Add bookmarks (a table of contents) to a PDF
One line per entry, the page number and the title: that is the PDF's table of contents.
Two leading spaces make a sub-entry. Titles in any language work.
They are written in inside this browser; the file is never uploaded to a server.
Your file is never uploaded to a server: the tool works in this browser.
How it goes
- 1Drop or choose the PDF (or try a sample)
- 2Type one entry per line, like "3 Introduction"
- 3Choose add or replace, run, then save
Good to know
- With add, the PDF's existing bookmarks stay and yours follow; with replace, only yours remain.
- You type the page numbers; headings are not found for you.
Other problems
- Name invoice PDFs from their contents, and turn them into a ledger
- Make the text of a scanned PDF searchable and copyable
