Excel to CSV, ready for an import
The first sheet of the Excel file becomes a CSV, in UTF-8 or Shift_JIS to suit the system that takes it.
You pick the encoding when you save, so the import is less likely to show garbled text.
It is converted inside this browser; the file is never uploaded to a server.
Your file is never uploaded to a server: the tool works in this browser.
How it goes
- 1Drop or choose the Excel file (.xlsx) (or try a sample)
- 2Check the table that was read, and pick the encoding (UTF-8 or Shift_JIS)
- 3Save as CSV
Good to know
- Only the first sheet is used: move another sheet to the front, or save it as its own file, first.
- A CSV keeps values only: colours, borders and formulas are not in it.
- Free: up to 50,000 rows, one file at a time.
